What is Qigong?
Many of us are vaguely aware of the great benefits of Qigong active meditation to our health and longevity but don’t really understand how it works.
Here is an overview:
-
Qi (chi) circulates around our bodies, in a daily cycle, mainly but not entirely through pathways called meridians and vessels.
-
Qi is stored in energy centers/reservoirs called Tan Tiens or Chakras.
-
The two main sources of chi are the Earth (Yin Qi) and the sky (Yang Qi).
-
When the Qi in our bodies is circulating freely and is balanced between Yin and Yang, we will enjoy good health.
-
Opening the meridians through stretching exercises and guiding Qi through them facilitates strong, smooth circulation of the Qi.
-
Drawing in fresh Qi from the earth and sky keeps our Qi plentiful and allows us to balance Yin and Yang.
-
Expelling stale or excess Qi keeps our Qi fresh and prevents it from becoming excessively strong.
By its nature, Qi Gong (also known as ‘Chi Kung’ or ‘Ki Gung’) is simple and easy, yet amazingly effective. Anyone can practice it successfully, regardless of age or fitness. The essential requirements are a properly trained instructor and good, fresh air.
The basic Qigong system that I teach is Tong Ling (clearing and circulating) Qigong. The system can be learned in one month or so but takes time to practice. However, benefits can be felt immediately.
Qigong is a mind-body practice that involves rhythmic breathing, slow and deliberate movements, and meditation to cultivate energy and promote health and well-being. It is a traditional Chinese exercise system aimed at enhancing the flow of energy, known as "qi," through the body. Qigong exercises are designed to promote relaxation, improve posture, increase flexibility, and boost overall health.
Qigong has a long history that dates back thousands of years to ancient China. The practice of qigong is believed to have originated around 4,000 to 5,000 years ago, making it one of the oldest forms of self-care and healing practices.

What is my experience with qigong?
In 2017 I had an amazing experience with a remote energy healer who, while we were just talking on the phone during a healing session, could see the things he was instructing me to do as well as the energies around me.
He noticed even before I did the colors that were surrounding me. I had seen these energies before when I felt very peaceful but I didn’t know what to do with them. He walked me through absorbing them and after a short period my apartment disappeared and I only saw a golden light surrounding me with geometric patterns of any even brighter golden light within it.
When I asked him how he learned how to do this he told me it was through the practice of qigong! Because of this experience, I started doing qigong routines that I learned from him, other energy healers and Qigong masters like Mantak Chi. I noticed that I’ve had a large array of beautiful experiences that came from doing this practice since then as well devel.
After practicing for 5 years I wanted to intensify my experience with qigong. So in October 2023, I went and stayed at a kung fu camp in Pai, Thailand for four months with the intention of learning qigong in more depth. During my time there I learned the ancient art of Sholin Kung Fu, Tai Chi and qigong. 5 days out of the week I started practice at 6am and ended at 6pm.
What qualifies me to teach?
How am I qualified to teach it?When I was at the Kung Fu Camp in Thailand I took a 200 hour Teacher training course to learn how to teach Zhonghua Tong Ling Qigong. Using my years of experience in doing qigong as well as my training from Thailand I will guide you in this practice.
